Team Eagle Medieval Food Workshop
On Monday 26th March, Team Eagle had a visit from Bess, a medieval guest, who taught us how to work out whether people were rich or poor during medieval times: the clue was in their teeth!
Team Eagle learnt about diet and the other types of food that medieval people would have eaten. We also followed Bess' medieval recipe to create our own medieval 'green sauce', typical of what peasants would have eaten almost 1,000 years ago. We mixed breadcrumbs with vinegar and crushed herbs, which we prepared by hand, using a pestle and mortar. The taste test produced very mixed reviews!
