Christian Distinctiveness
As a school, we believe that Christian Values help to shape and support our children to fulfil their full potential and empower them to make informed choices, flourish socially and prepare them for becoming a confident, respectful and fulfilled members of society. We believe that our Christian Values highlight how Christ is our role model and that no matter what we go through, we will always have peace, respect and friendship.
Darrington CE Primary School is a Church of England school within the Diocese of Leeds. We have strong links with our Parish Church, St Luke and All Saints, and worship here at different times of the year.
Our Church community supports our school in a number of ways through representatives holding the roles of Foundation Governors on our Governing Body. Our Worship Wonderers engage in the daily act of Collective Worship and are proud of their roles.
We also work in partnership with the Diocese of Leeds and within an informal partnership of Wakefield Church Schools, "All Saint's Partnership," which enables us to improve and grow as Church Schools.
Belonging To Our Church Community
St Luke and All Saints Church Darrington
At Darrington CE Primary, we regularly visit St Luke and All Saints Church, Darrington, which is positioned next to the school. We hold many celebrations throughout the year in Church such as our Christmas Carol Concert, Harvest and Easter service. We also visit the Church when teaching elements of Christianity in RE, for example, about Baptism and signs and symbols.
